I’m the Owner/Director of Snuggles at Upstate Safe & Snug. I grew up in rural Upstate NY and have been caring for animals for my entire life. After getting my degree outside of Boston and living in California for many years, I returned Upstate at the height of Covid and my pet-sitting clientele has organically grown ever since!
Regardless of my 9-5 job du jour I have always been a pet and house sitter as a side gig, and typically enjoyed my time with animals more than anything else. Having decided to finally dive into entrepreneurship and spend more time doing what makes me happy, Safe & Snug was born in 2025. It has been so meaningful to develop relationships with pets and their families in my community, and we just keep connecting to more and more great folks.
My love for animals has taken me everywhere from work on an orangutan rescue in the jungle of Borneo to living on a goat farm in New England. To this day it’s not unlikely to find me catching a snake on a hike, stewarding injured wildlife to aid, or picking up a shift at my friend’s doggy daycare. Currently I have a cheeky little grey tabby named Olive who I rescued from Oakland, CA in 2020. She has reached millions of people on Instagram - if you want, you can follow her @olive.thesmol!
